Normal map (POST /normal-map), measured once
PixelLab 0.4.130. The body is image (base64 PNG, 8 to 512px per frame
side; an animation is a horizontal strip), frames (1 to 32), and
convention (opengl, green up, the default; or directx). It returns a
background job, and the finished job's last_response.image is the map as
a PNG the input's size. PixelLab documents 0.5 generations, charged on
delivery.
Measured once (October 2026): pixelkiln normal-map --frames 8 on a
1304×26 strip of eight 163×26 effect frames billed exactly 0.5 generations
(balance 5103 to 5102.5) and returned a 1304×26 RGBA strip. Its alpha
matched the source's pixel for pixel, so the strip cuts back into the same
8 frames. Wired up as the normal-map revision mode and pixelkiln normal-map (REVISIONS.md).
